PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Jacques Pelletier has been working for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation since 1989. In 2002, he was promoted to Manager, Business Development, Mortgage Insurance - Multiples, for the Quebec Region. Until his recent promotion, he was a Multiple Underwriter for three years. In this capacity, he analyzed mortgage loan insurance applications for the purchase, construction or refinancing of rental buildings.

He also held the position of Senior Market Analyst at CMHC’s Montréal Branch Office, where he led a team of seven people, for eight years. He was responsible for housing market analysis and forecasts in the Greater Montréal area. His expertise was often solicited by industry stakeholders and the media.

Jacques Pelletier is also a lecturer at the École des Hautes Études Commerciales, where he teaches macro-economics. Before joining CMHC, he worked in the Research Department at the Bank of Canada in Ottawa. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the École des HEC and a master’s degree in economics from Queen’s University in Kingston.

In addition to his professional experience, he has concrete experience in real estate investment, as he owns two small rental buildings.
